1 ILLUMINATION LENS
The integrated lens is designed to optimize light distribution throughout the switch, providing bright and even RGB illumination. By guiding and diffusing the light more effectively, it ensures consistent lighting across the keycap and enhances the overall visual appearance of the keyboard. Seamlessly integrated into the switch architecture, the lens combines functional precision with vibrant RGB performance.2 UPPER HOUSING
The redesigned upper housing is a high-precision CAD component made of advanced polymer. With tight tolerances, it ensures precise guidance of the switching slide while reducing keycap collision risk. The optimized geometry also improves light diffusion, while the integrated lens ensures consistent and enhanced RGB performance. The optimized stem is a high-precision CAD component engineered for a refined, silent tactile keystroke. A carefully tuned tactile bump delivers clear feedback while minimizing noise. Enhanced stem centering and reduced clearance minimize wobble and key rattle, resulting in a stable, consistent typing experience. The refined design ensures a soft bottom-out, precise reset, and effective sound dampening, while securely supporting the keycap.4 GOLD CROSSPOINT CONTACT
Gold-based, the crosspoint contact is the heart of every CHERRY MX keyswitch and the basis of its incredible reliability and durability. With absolute precision, these triangular cross-contacts meet each other at precise right angles. This unique CHERRY innovation and ornate gold-plating make the electrical contact enclosure self-cleaning and gives the keyswitch permanent protection against corrosion, guaranteeing the keyswitch for more than 50 million operations.5 PRECISION COIL SPRING
The keyswitch’s coil spring is precisely engineered to support the silent tactile characteristic of the MX EMERALD REEF. Its pressure resistance is carefully tuned to deliver a balanced, controlled keystroke with a distinct tactile bump and reduced noise. The high-density molecular structure of the spring’s metal alloy is individually calibrated for each switch, ensuring consistent actuation force, smooth return, and a stable, quiet typing experience.6 HOUSING BASE
Dual-functional, the housing base component is made of a high-quality plastic polymer reinforced with glass fiber. The inner structure securely holds the switching mechanism and contributes to the switch’s precise and stable operation. The outer part serves as both the base and mounting surface for CHERRY’s mechanical keyboards.
